Dr Jesse is a breast and endocrine surgeon, specializing in managing both benign and malignant breast and thyroid conditions, which also include breast cancer, breast pain, breast lumps, breastfeeding problems, thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules and neck lumps.
After graduating and completing surgical training at NUS School of Medicine, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) Edinburgh, UK in 2014. In 2016, Dr Jesse concurrently completed two Health Manpower Development Program (HMDP) fellowships at Oxford University Hospital, UK, where she further sub-specialized in both oncoplastic breast surgery and endocrine surgery.
Till 2022, Dr Jesse worked as a senior consultant in National University Health System (NUHS) where she provided care for patients at both National University Hospital (NUH) and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). She was the Tumor Group Lead for Breast Oncology at National Cancer Institute Singapore, and the Lead for JCI accreditation which focused on patient safety and care in the hospital, and Lead for value-driven outcomes in breast cancer patients.
Dr Jesse continues to be part of the teaching faculties of both NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, where she teaches and mentors the next generation of medical students and trainee doctors.
Research Interests
Dr Jesse is recognized as an authority in breast cancer and thyroid surgery and a sought-after conference speaker. She has authored numerous papers and book chapters, notably the internationally recognized Cochrane review on Oncoplastic Breast Conserving Surgery for Women with Primary Breast Cancer.
Other Activities
Dr Jesse is actively involved in promoting breast cancer awareness through medical talks in Singapore and in overseas medical missions to empower all women to make the right choice for their health.
Outside of work, Dr Jesse continues to shape the lives of her three children while tending to a stubborn vegetable garden which supports her kitchen adventures.
